Choose Your Healing Method: Pads or Tattoo Cream
Proper aftercare is essential to ensure your tattoo heals clean, retains its detail, and looks its best for years to come. Below are two trusted healing methods — using sterile pads like Tattoo Armour, or using tattoo-specific creams. Choose the one that best suits your routine and needs.
What You’ll Need:
— Neutral, fragrance-free soap
— Tattoo ointment or tattoo cream (Aquaphor Eucerin - Hustle Butter)
— Fragrance-free moisturizer
— Clean paper towels
Day 0 – Session Day:
— Keep the original bandage on for 2–4 hours.
— Remove the bandage, gently wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and fragrance-free soap.
— Pat dry with a clean paper towel.
— Let the tattoo breathe; do not re-bandage.
Days 1–7 – Wash & Moisturize:
— Wash the tattoo 2–3 times per day.
— After each wash, apply a very thin layer of tattoo ointment or cream.
— Avoid applying too much — a light coat is enough.
— Keep the tattoo clean, dry, and protected.
Days 8–14 – Moisturize Only:
— Switch to a fragrance-free moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated.
— Avoid sunlight, swimming, sweating, and tight clothing until healing is complete.
— Never scratch, pick, or peel the tattoo.
— Avoid direct sun exposure until the skin is fully healed.
— Do not apply sunscreen until at least 2 weeks after your tattoo.
— Sleep on clean sheets and wear breathable clothing.
— Stay hydrated and eat well — your skin heals best when your body is supported.
What You’ll Need:
— Sterile tattoo healing pads (Tattoo Armour or similar)
— Neutral, fragrance-free soap
— Tattoo ointment (Aquaphor, Eucerin, Hustle Butter)
— Medical tape, masking tape, or elastic wrap
— Fragrance-free moisturizer
— Clean paper towels
Day 0 – Session Day:
— A sterile healing pad will be applied over your tattoo after your session.
— Keep the pad on for 12 to 24 hours, depending on fluid buildup.
— Avoid any physical activity that causes sweating or rubbing.
Days 1–5 – Daily Pad Change + Ointment:
— Wash hands thoroughly.
— Gently remove the used pad.
— Wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and fragrance-free soap.
— Pat dry with clean paper towels or let it air dry for 15–20 minutes.
— Apply a very thin layer of tattoo ointment.
— Apply a fresh sterile pad:
— Make sure the entire tattoo is fully covered and in contact with the pad.
— The pad should be well-sealed to the skin, with no air gaps or loose edges.
— Use tape or wrap to secure it in place, especially on curved or moving areas.
— Repeat every 12–24 hours.
Days 6–10 – Final Healing Phase (No Pads):
— Stop using pads after day 5.
— Wash the area once daily.
— Apply a light, fragrance-free moisturizer as needed (once daily or if the skin feels dry).
— Do not scratch, pick, or peel.
— Avoid sun exposure, swimming, and sweating until fully healed.
A well-healed geometric tattoo reflects both the artist’s work and the client’s commitment to proper aftercare. To ensure the best possible results and preserve the quality of your piece, I offer one free touch-up (if needed) within 3 months of completing your project.
To qualify for this touch-up, the following conditions must be met:
— You must follow one of the official aftercare methods provided after your session — either healing with pads or with tattoo cream.
— You must document your healing process by sending the required photos to support@jblessink.com within 10 days of your session.
If you’re healing with tattoo cream, you must send at least 5 clear progress photos, taken on 5 different days between Days 1–7. These photos must show:
— The tattoo in clean conditions after washing and before applying cream.
— A visible sign of proper hydration (not over-moisturized or dried out).
— The surrounding skin with no signs of external contamination or trauma.
— All photos must be sent within 10 days of your session via email or DM.
— The tattoo must show signs of natural, healthy healing. Excessive trauma, scabbing, over-moisturizing, or preventable ink loss caused by poor aftercare may void the free touch-up.
If you’re using healing pads, you must document your process by sending at least 4 clear photos, taken on 4 different days during Days 1–5. These photos must include:
— Your tattoo fully covered by the pad and properly secured.
— At least one photo during a pad change, showing:
— The tattoo after removing the old pad, freshly washed and before ointment.
— The new pad applied, covering the tattoo completely and well-adhered.
Why this matters:
Touch-ups are a professional courtesy offered to maintain the clarity, flow, and quality of your geometric tattoo. By following the guide and sending healing updates, you help ensure the best outcome and I can offer the right support if your piece needs adjustment.
